Sins of the Mother

I had a few posts written, including one on Pride Month, but then I came across an article that absolutely sent me. I had to write about that because it is too tragic and wrong on every level to ignore.

In short, an unborn baby died after contracting measles from an unvaccinated mother. This is criminally tragic. That infant had no choice and no chance; a mother was criminally irresponsible. And yes, I mean exactly what I said.

And yes, I am sure the parents “feel terrible,” but so what? No hand-wringing or remorse will change the fact that their child died because of their choices.

Measles and many other diseases are preventable. There is no reason anyone should contract these diseases, let alone die from them; unborn infants are even less so. Those who choose to remain vaccinated are putting others at risk, such as children too young to be vaccinated. Those people need to grow up and think of others and not just their “I don’t wanna. You Can’t make me” toddler mentality.

Vaccines do not cause autism…and even if they did, so what? How is autism worse than a preventable death?

And to be clear, I am not talking about people who have been advised by medical professionals to avoid the COVID-19 shot. I am talking about conspiracy followers and anti-vaxers. Those who cannot receive COVID-19 vaccines (and children not yet eligible for inoculation) are precisely why vaccinations matter: to protect those most at risk.

And don’t fool yourself into thinking you did your own research. That is just confirmation bias. Scientists are trained to recognize and minimize this. You are not (Neither am I, but I a not the one believing bullshit theories in the name of “critical thinking”)

Choices have consequences, but unborn children should not be the ones to pay.
